Scroll wheel problem

For some reason in the view ports my scroll wheel is not scrolling up and down to view all files, instead it scrolls left and right which is useless.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

It scrolls left/right, only when there's nowhere to scroll up/down. Isn't that your case? Can you post a screenshot?
