Suddenly can't log into FTP (Directory doesn't exist)
Hi. I suddenly can't log into my FTP (which was working properly with WinSCP for years).
The only things that changed, were my modem/router, and my internet plan speed.
The configuration is the same as before, and my web host confirms everything is fine on their side.
Regardless of what I put into the Remote Directory field (including just / or blank), I get a timeout error when trying to connect, and it says the directory doesn't exist or that it can't retrieve the directory listing. Sometimes it will say there are too many connections from that IP, for some reason.
Not sure what may have happened, as I didn't change anything as far as settings. Tried a number of different things (IP address vs domain address, remote directory settings, etc).
WinSCP is logging into my friend's FTP space fine, so I know the router isn't blocking things globally, or anything like that... and that WinSCP is actually working (at least for my friend's space). But, nothing I do seems to make it work for my webspace.
- What else can I try?
- What could cause WinSCP to continually claim it can't connect because the 'directory doesn't exist' (regardless of the Remote Directory setting)? Obviously a bogus error, but what COULD cause that error to trigger?
