Is a .NET port available/possible/desireable?

I've been out of *real* development for a several years so excuse me if this question/request seems foolish.

Do you mean implementation in .NET? I do not see any advantage for end user. Or do you want .NET component reusable in other projects?

I could really use a .Net component to use in my application and suspect that others could as well. Would that be possible without an inordinate amount of effort?

Well yes that too. Any type of embeddable component is usually desireable for people to embed within GUI, web and say ETL applictions.
