The program was active in the background for a couple of hours. When I switched back to the foreground, this "Invalid access to memory" screen popped up.

WinSCP was connected to my broadband connection through WiFi. I also had a VPN running on top of it. I disconnected the VPN. WinSCP prompted with a "Host not found" or similar message. Then it gave this error.

Using Sophos SSL VPN client to connect to remote server. After hybernating the computer (Win10) and then waking it up the VPN is automatically disconnected. I don't reconnect it and when I switch to WinSCP i close the "trying to connect" window. Then I receive the error.

I imagine this will have had something to do with this problem:
I disconnected from VPN with a document open locally (in TextPad on my laptop). Cannot remember whether error occurred on closing the doc, but imagine it will have as it reied to write to 'disk'

Note that I have not attempted to recreate the problem.

The problem ocurred when I tried to restore the session after the computer was in Sleep mode. I had WinSCP and PuTTY open at the same time and both failed to reconnect.

Invalid access to memory - TTerminal::GetActive

I was on a VPN connection. I had disconnected from it. So, the connection got terminated. After few hours, I closed WinSCP by clicking on the "X" icon on top right corner. It showed this error message.

I am logged in to a SFTP server (LibreELEC 9.2.6) via LAN. When I shut down that server while WinSCP is logged in, WinSCP tries to reconnect. When I abort the reconnection, WinSCP shows that error. It's reproducable.

I was trying to connect to a server, it failed to I cancelled it by clicking the close button and then it popped up with the connection window (the window that has the host, port, etc) and I closed that, then this exception was thrown.

Invalid access to memory - TTerminal::GetActive

I left WinSCP connected to a VPN'd server overnight. The VPN dropped in the middle of the night. WinSCP was trying to connect to the server when I returned this morning. I clicked the X to stop that search and then the error showed up.

Invalid access to memory - TTerminal::GetActive

Here are the steps to reproduce this issue:

1. Connect to a remote server.
2. Shutdown the remote server.
3. WinSCP tries automatically to connect to remote server.
4. Click the close button. A window appears with the error.

Please note if the remote server is up an running and you close WinSCP nothing happening. Only when the remove server is down before closing WinSCP. I hope you will manage to fix this issue.
