Kann die entfernte Datei '/var/log/apache2/xxxx.de-combined.log' nicht öffnen - _ssh_send_port_open

Hi,
using German Telekom as provider leaves you with the "feature" having a forced disconnect every night.
In former releases of WinSCP, the automatic reconned worked perfectly, now I face the problem,
that if I come back to WinSCP in the morning (after the forced disconnect) the screen looks quite normal.
However WinSCP is internaly in disconnected status. Trying to access remote files via SFTP lead to the error.
Looks like the reconnect in the night worked good enougth to display the WinSCP screens, but internaly the connection is gone.
Restarting the program solves...

Invalid access to memory error - _ssh_send_port_open

I use WinSCP, switch to another application but then when I return to WinSCP to transfer files I get a memory access error and it says "Not Connected" on the bottom left of the window. I quit WinSCP, restart it and it works fine for minutes or hours before the memeory access error appears again.

I am connected to the remove server via a VPN. I know the connection is stable because other applications I am using at the same time rely on it and continue to work.

Error getting name of current remote directory - _ssh_send_port_open

Steps to repeat:

Our server had some bad inodes so we got this error in WinSCP. We get a similar error using the linux command "sftp": 
# sftp name@example.com
Couldn't canonicalise: No such file or directory
Need cwd

On a previous server we saw it with American spelling:
Couldn't canonicalize: No such file or directory
Need cwd

But we are getting our server fixed by tech support, so I guess you need to somehow make cwd fail on a test server. Sorry!

Expected result:
WinSCP logs in.

Actual result:
WinSCP shows several modal popup windows about the error. Very annoying because there are about 10 modals to click through. Then they happen again if you switch tabs. Then again when you close the session.

One of the modals is actually a memory error, others are just reporting the server failure.

Fehler beim Wechseln in Verzeichnis '/var/www/vhosts/biz-improver.at/httpdocs/css' - _ssh_send_port_open

I tried to drag&drop a file from the local windows-explorer to a directory which did not work and showed the forbiden symbol instead.
WinSCP was open for several days and there is a IP-Change from the provider on a daily basis. This usually is recovered from WinSCP, But might have been the issu this time.

I'll try to retart the session and redo the d&d.

So if you don't hear anything further, just ignore it.
Following the restart it worked as expected.
So just ignore it.

After a while (10 mins or so), the connection that has been opened seems to error. For whatever reason, WinSCP doesn't notice and tries to carry on as normal, using this dead connection to open files and list folders, both ones it knows about and one's it's not yet explored or listed. This results in the error. If I duplicate the session, the connection will reset and both connections will work again.

I can reproduce this error on my own machine, it happens a few times a day.

After the computer wakes up from sleeping, the currently open session of winscp will be stuck. It won't access the directories and it will not reconnect.

Fehler beim Wechseln in Verzeichnis 'public_html/app' - _ssh_send_port_open

I always switch through a lot of programs and WinSCP is always one of them, this special error never came before. This time I got an inactive putty window without message - sometimes it happens when I am too long away, but this time no message - closed it via click on the close button of the window and got back to winscp, where I wanted to change to another directory to reconnect again. This message appeared, putty was already opened again.

clicking on any directory or writing it in the address field produce the issue.

It does not happen all the time. Closing and opening WinSCP solve the issue.

I left my computer connected to a remote ssh server overnight, and the next day the path was not shown. I typed Ctrl+R to refresh the page, then maybe F5 (then I had to cancel an opening window), but the path bar war still empty. Then I tried to move 1 level up in the tree, then the error occured.

Invalid access to memory - _ssh_send_port_open

Usually I have 10-15 sessions open all day, and next they when I try to reach them, it needs reconnect. and when I press reconnect, this error appears, and then clicking again on reconnect, everything works.

If I suspend my windows 10 laptop and turn it on again I received this error. That did not happen in the previous version of WinSCP.

Error when changing directories following an IP-change - _ssh_send_port_open

Tried to change the directory for the first time after the IP-Adresses has been changed by the provider.
This did not happen before, just since a few days (Update in beetwen probably?!)

Background:
The Internetprovider is changing the IP-adress at least once a day. As my connections are sometimes open for long time, when an update of the selected directory is done this error happens.
I have not expereinced this error for 'normal' operaion.
This error did also not happen before.

Error changing directory to '/' - _ssh_send_port_open

I left WinSCP idle for 20 minutes and disconnected from the server. I tried to refresh the current directory, but refresh was grayed out. Moving to a new directory causes this issue.

This happens when I change networks (WIFI<->wired). In the past, it just asked for my password again.

Copying a file from host to pc (where the existing file exists in target dir) - after error the original PC file is GONE... deleted !!
