Permissions for Uploads - more flexibility?

I am using Winscp ver 3.8.2 build 330.

I would like to be able to set the permissions separately for files (that are not directories) and directories.

When I upload something like this:

/dir1/dir2/file.txt

I would like the permissions on dir1 and dir2 to be 701 and the permission on "file.txt" to be 604.

I use WindowsXP to do the uploads. The target of the uploads is a Unix type system (web hosting site). The best I have been able to manage is to set permissions 604 with "add x for directories". I think file.txt needs read permission on it to allow download, but I definitely want *only* execute (enter) permission on the directories to disable "browsing".

Is there a way to do this "automatically" for each upload?

That's fine. Thanks for looking into that. I will try to do it from the other end, with the dreaded "command prompt".

Excellent program, well done.

I used the handy little command session at the top of the WinScp screen to accomplish this. Worked fine. I hadn't noticed that little icon. (red face).

Excellent program Martin. I recommend that you only put stuff in that *you* want to have in it. Too many cooks spoil the broth, you know?
