colors

why doesn't the new version respect my system colors? i've created them because i want the programs to use them. after several minutes of searching the menus/options i've managed to get some stuff back but the top part of the screen is still black and it's ugly.

compare files
comparing files by content doesn't work. the cmd window keeps popping up telling me my files don't exist. my guess would be quotes are needed somewhere. as usual, it is impossible to cancel the operation, and i have to use task manager (used to that - i was never able to cancel any file transfer in any version of winscp).

Re: compare files
Are you referring to the "Compare files" extension?comparing files by content doesn't work. the cmd window keeps popping up telling me my files don't exist. my guess would be quotes are needed somewhere.
Can you post an exact error message you are getting?

a screenshot is attached (regarding the colors issue). i can change the lower panels color but the rest of the screen remains black. and all reverts to black on program restart (tried running as admin, nothing improves).

comparison
and amazingly, the comparison works now, even though i don't think anything has changed. i tried checking run as admin once in the meantime, and unchecked again, apart from using the program several times. i'm referring to ctrl-alt-shift-C compare files, dunno if it's addon or what, in files menu. first time i tried it i kept getting a cmd window telling me my files don't exist (unsure if the focus was in the local or the remote directory). now i can even cancel! when i manage to reproduce the error i'll send some shots.

How did you change the "system colors"? What version of Windows is that? Do you have dark theme enabled in Windows or in WinSCP?a screenshot is attached (regarding the colors issue). i can change the lower panels color but the rest of the screen remains black. and all reverts to black on program restart (tried running as admin, nothing improves).

i don't remember how i created system colors. that was long ago. probably something to do with right clicking the desktop. those are the colors i use because i don't like high contrast, and previous versions of winscp respected my color scheme (and so do some, unfortunately minor, parts of the program now). preferences show what i suppose is the installation default, theme: automatic. i did not set anything either dark or light anywhere in my windows which is version 8.1.
oh, btw, the problem solved when i switched from "automatic" to "light". light actually isn't light but my user-defined colors. but this needs fixing - light brown isn't light (should be black on white as far as i know), and automatic and dark both give the dark effect.
