You may change the transfer mode for particular transfer on copy confirmation dialog. Please read F.A.Q.

Binary Ascii buttons
I know I can change this manually by
View |preferences|transfer
but how about some shortcut buttons on the tool bar.
I have a lot of files with no extensions (typical unix stuff) some are binary some ascii. This would help alot.
PS Great product. By far the best I've seen and I've looked at just about all the available programs (over 40 so far).
