Unable to close WinSCP after resuming from sleep

If WinSCP is running when my laptop goes to sleep, on waking up it's usually not possible to close WinSCP. The buttons and menu options do nothing. I have to end the process using task manager. I'm using Windows 10 with all latest updates.
