I am not sure what led to that error, but it might have something to do with notebook sleeping/hibernation. Yesterday, WinSCP was running and connected to one server. I then hibernated (or made to sleep - not sure how it works) the notebook. This morning I noticed the error window. I did not interact with WinSCP in any way.

I had an opened WinScp window since yesterday, but connections were not active (after some time they disconnect, also vpn connection gets lost)
Notebook was in sleep mode. Today i logged in, enabled connected to vpn and then I saw this error.

Woke laptop from sleep, presumably WinSCP tried and failed to reconnect, frozen connection window was still present along with main window, both windows (and with them, the process) closed without needing task manager, surprisingly. Unrelated, good job with the crash handler, haven't seen one this smooth before!

I had an ethernet point-to-point connection from laptop to raspberry pi. At the end of the workday I pulled the cable from my laptop without closing WinSCP, pressed Ctrl+L and closed the lid. This mornig I opened my laptop and this error message showed up.
In the background, I had a second connection open (Putty).

I did not notice when this occurred exactly but what happened meanwhile was that Cisco VPN was disconnected (because of remote server or internet connection drop out) and manually connected again.
