I too would like to be able to configure this behavior.

I'm used to Windows behavior, where directories and files are kept as two separate blocks, but directories don't always come first. On Windows, descending order (largest first/newest first/...) puts files first, while ascending order puts directories first. Default order is size descending, dates descending, names and types ascending.

Sometimes I'd like to have files and directories treated the same. Sometimes I'd like them to be grouped Windows-like.

I realize that making this configurable may cause an explosion of combinations. If WinSCP could be configured to behave like whatever people are used to from their OSes (Windows at least), that'd be awesome already.

files first

I would find this feature useful since I update files more often than directories and would like to see the most recently updated files first

Re: list files first, not directories first

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually you are the first one requesting this. Let's see if there are more people who finds this useful.

list files first, not directories first

Hi
In the details view, I see directories listed first, then files. I would like to ask for an option to not make this distinction between directories and files, as it is the case of Finder in the Mac, or Explore in windows. The motivation for this is that when working with files, we typically search for the most recently modified, or recently created, or by any other criteria, aiming at working with a file, and the way it works today we need to scroll down all the directories until arriving at the list of files.

Thanks.
