Well, I believe that for most users it's useless information and just scary :)
Yeah I found this out after I figured out the problem. I wish this would just show up in the log window that opens up when you connect to a remote location.
Is there a reason its not also shown in that small window?

When connecting to a host a small dialog pops up with basic details.
I would love for it to also state which host its connecting to by IP not just [i]"Connecting to host..."[/i] and also log timeouts if they happen.
I recently had an issue where only WinSCP had connection trouble to my server and I only later found out it was a very slight IPv6 misconfiguration which did not trip up the webserver or PuTTY and just messed with WinSCP where connections took ages to establish due to it timing out on IPv6 first.
I know this may not be the most important feature but I would be happy to see something like this happening.
