I agree we need to figure out why but I disagree that the screenshots are useful. You see the one I gave you, that shows you what, resolution and scale. Guess what says that for the other monitor too and the third one is 100% with 3000+ like I told you, so what is missing that you need to "see" for yourself?

Fix it, don't, I have alternatives that don't insult my intelligence and appreciate when a user takes time out of their workday to report an issue.

Sure WinSCP should handle it. But it does not for some reason. And I cannot fix it, unless we find out, what setup is causing the problem. It works for majority of users. There must be something special about your setup. So let's please start with the screenshot, to narrow down the options. Thanks.

Yes, the screen it is loaded on, there are 3 monitors total, all are at 100%, but the resolution of the main laptop screen is 3000+ and the other two are simply 1080. This is intentional for the work I do and I don't see how any of it has any bearing on this.

Regardless if it is scaling or not, it should handle it, clearly was before and that's something you should look into seeing why the scaling is handled correctly. I don't see any other reason to debate it, do you? All the screenshots in the world aren't going to change the fact.

100% scaling preferences window looks like this:

Your screenshot is more than twice as large.
Isn't the settings your have posted for a different monitor than the one, where you run WinSCP (and where you run the Settings app, as its screenshots is also much larger than 100% scaling)?
Please post a complete desktop (all monitors) screenshot, including both WinSCP and the Settings System > Display windows (with top monitor layout part and scaling settings visible).

Yes, I am sure. Unfortunately, I am not a novice. What suggests to you that it is not at 100%?

Even if we assume a scaling issue for the sake of argument, the same setup using the same configuration has been used for a long time without issue, why would it suddenly begin behaving differently?

Thanks.

Re: Preferences Window Empty

Thanks for your answer. Are you sure about the 100% scaling? The screenshot you have posted earlier does not look like 100% scaling. Please post a screenshot of System > Display page of Windows Settings app.

Re: Preferences Window Empty

  • multiple monitors: yes, not a new thing
  • scaling: 100%, all three have the same resolution
  • this setup has not changed in at least 2 years
  • been working through updates until the last one
  • machine gets restarted regularly, issue persists

Anything else?
Thanks.

Re: Preferences Window Empty

Thanks for your report.
What is your monitor setup? Do you have multiple monitors? What scaling? Does it help, if you restart your computer?

Preferences Window Empty

When I open WinSCP version 6.5.1 (Build 16311 5/5/25) and click on preferences, it brings up a window that has options on the right no other settings. Please see attached.
